A look inside

The morning over the Lagos Lagoon did not arrive with a quiet dawn; it exploded in hues of burnt orange, gold, and the thick, familiar hum of a city waking up to conquer itself.

On the long stretches of the Third Mainland Bridge, asphalt stretched like a dark ribbon connecting two different worlds: the sprawling, bustling mainland and the sleek, glass-encrusted island. Yellow danfo buses—their painted sides weathered by years of sun, sea salt, and close encounters with concrete barriers—pushed through the morning mist. Inside one of these buses sat Jimi.

Jimi was a young man in his late twenties whose eyes carried the restless ambition typical of anyone trying to make a mark in Eko.
